Burrrrr Lake!

The Hellewell family invited us a number of months ago us to spend a week with them at the Spillman Condo in Bear Lake, so the kids have had a long time to plan out our vacation together!  A day at the beach, an evening talent show, riding wave runners, miniature golfing, doing projects in the kid center and of course lots of swimming in one of the pools or in the lake.  But it all started with a hike into Minnatonka Cave ... really fun and a little cold!

Oh, did I mention there are about 842 stairs inside of the cave...!

Kallie is touching a stalagmite...it is the only one in the cave that we are allowed to touch, so many people have touched it over the years it is now "dead".  It is cold, wet and very slippery!
Next on their agenda was a yummy dinner and talent show (complete with colored programs and pictures of each of the stars)!  The kids had lots of fun preforming a number of songs for us: Kallie and Sarah were the lead singers and dancers, Adam played the drums (with one stick), Jake was on percussion and Logan was the  M.C!

The "big Hanson's" let us borrow a cast cover, so Jake was able to enjoy the sand a little too!

We enjoyed playing on wave runners on the lake for a while on Tuesday... it was cold and windy, perfect conditions for making a wave runner ride more thrilling!  Even with the cool weather the kids loved playing in the water, building a river valley for the lake to fill up another area of water and we enjoyed lunch on the beach.  I however, put my toe in for a second and then wrapped up in a towel...it's sure not Lake Powell water!!!  Buurrrrr ...!

We couldn't go to Bear Lake without eating at Lebeau's!  The shakes were so yummy!!!  And dinner wasn't too bad either...we also enjoyed taking some pictures of an old barn...and running through the field next to Lebeau's and laughing and enjoying every minute of it!

Two things I learned or remembered during the trip:

#1.  I really love these people and I enjoy seeing new things and experiencing fun stuff together.
#2:  I really like old wooden barns and Bear Lake has lots of them!

Thanks Hellewell family we had a great time...!
